JSTF grievances just tip of the iceberg

APPERENTLY today’s rampage at Parliament by disgruntled members of the Joint Security Task Force is only the tip of the iceberg over the non-payment of allowances as other members within the public service have also cited long outstanding payments owed during the entire hosting year.
Several public servant revealed there are many dedicated public servants who worked tirelessly during the year’s three Senior Officials Meetings since still haven’t received their overtime allowances.
Continues promises have been made, according to one “APEC is over and we’re still waiting, so we can understand the feelings of security personnel,” one said.
APEC preparations for 2018 had seen a large number of public servants engaged on secondment basis to the APEC Coordination Authority and other related operations for the global event.
Security forces and line agencies were promised payment first thing Monday, but that did not eventuate leading into today’s rampage.
