Agriculture deserves a good plan and additional funding from govt
Agriculture minister Benny Allan says the country must have a realistic National Agriculture Sector plan.
He is in Mt. Hagen this week opening the highlands regional consultative workshop to gauze views on what should be captured in the plan to develop agriculture.
Allan justified that regional workshops were necessary to get views from stakeholders, mainly farmers and provincial administrations in the development of this plan which is aimed at transforming the sector and creating wealth and income earning opportunities.
It is expected that the government would provide more direct funding to develop and promote agriculture at district and village levels.
