James Marape resigns as finance minister

Finance Minister James Marape has announced his resignation as a state minister in the O’Neill Abel Government.
The announcement comes after his explanation that most of his advice find no traction and are non compatible with the Prime Ministers world view, thus it is only fitting that he exited the Cabinet.
Marape said he resigned because of differing views on important matters singling out no personal differences.
He is still a member of the Peoples National Congress and Government.
The press conference ended at around 2pm today.
Prime Minister Peter O’Neill is in New Ireland when we contacted him.
Marape’s announcement has shocked all Cabinet and his staff.
The Prime Minister will make a statement after his official engagements in New Ireland.
