Philippines President arrives for APEC

PHILIPPINES President Rodrigo Duterte arrived to a rousing traditional welcome in Port Moresby this morning around 5:30am to kick off his 2018 APEC Summit meetings.
President Duterte was met by Finance Minister James Marape and other PNG dignitaries.
The president, scheduled to address the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Meeting, arrived on his private plane with his entourage.
He is expected to express support for micro, small and medium enterprises and multilateral trade. Before attending the APEC Leaders’ Meeting, Duterte will meet with the Filipino community in Port Moresby. Papua New Guinea hosts about 40,000 Filipino workers and over 200 Philippine companies and he is expected to meet with them during his visit.
