Department rewards officers
The Department for Community Development and Religion awarded more than 16 officers at a ceremony at the International Convention Centre at Waigani recently.
The officers were recognized for performing exceptionally well during the 2018 operations and implementation of its projects and programs.
Following awards given to managers and senior officers last year, 2017, this year Secretary Anna Solomon made sure junior officers got recognized for their undivided attention and commitment for the whole year. Each staff was nominated by their managers.
Secretary’s choice for the best performing officer went to Steven Tago, a security guard for the office. Steven got K1000 spending money plus a weekend with family at Gateway Hotel.
Other awardees each received a certificate of recognition signed by both the Secretary and Minister Soroi Eoe and K500 voucher to spend at Stop’n’ Stop.
“This year 2018 has been a busy year for the department, and so we must thank ourselves for the hard work done and look forward to New Year with the implementation of the district community development centres. This will be the blueprint of the department to empower and protect families at the district level,” Ms Solomon said.
