NRL conducts holiday clinic at Cheshire Homes

National Rugby League in PNG conducted their term 4 PNG Hunters School Holiday clinic at the Cheshire Homes at Hohola yesterday.
The special event was aimed at engaging children during their holidays, to reiterate key messages on respect, importance of education and living a healthy active lifestyle.
NRL ran the event in collaboration with the PNG Hunters and Milo to deliver the program to 52 boys and girls.
From this group of participants, 31 were female and four were students living with a disability.
The Hunters management sent 16 players from their pre-season squad to help run the event.
The day’s program began at 9am with a brief introduction and key messaging, followed by dynamic warm-up prior to start of sessions.
All National Rugby League activities, particularly special events such as holiday clinics are designed to be inclusive regardless of gender and
ability.
National program manager Rutha Omenefa said the holiday clinic was held at the end of every term to instill positive behaviour in students during their break.
“I would like to thank the PNG Hunters management particularly coach Michael Marum, the players and Milo for their support this year,” Omenefa said.
The NRL through its flagship program League Bilong Laif works closely with Cheshire Home, and took the opportunity to acknowledge their continuous support as well, particularly for hosting the holiday clinic on their grounds. This was the first time a holiday clinic had been held there.
