Tsaka lauds efforts of Kumuls and Hunters coach

PNG Rugby Football League chairman Sandis Tsaka has attributed the performance of the PNG Kumuls and SP PNG Hunters to the coaching mentorship of coach Michael Marum.
Tsaka made the comments last week on how Marum had steered both teams at the top of representative level.
“Coach Michael has been the rock on which we have built rugby league,” said Tsaka.
He added it is not only coach Marum’s football playing career and knowledge but it is reality of good management skills and discipline that has been his (Coach Michael) trademark to bring into both national teams.
“He has brought in this culture of coaching into what Kumuls and Hunters have developed,” said Tsaka.
He added this was what was lacking in previous years in the performance of rugby league.
“Hunters have a culture, Kumuls have a culture and it is a tradition now that any new players and officials that come into the team know what is expected in terms of performance both on and off the field.”
He said what Marum has brought to bring up our elite program has been good and he (coach Marum) has done a great job.
“He is leaving behind a legacy that hopefully people in the future whether it be a PNG RFL chairman or coaches can hopefully build on from what he has planted now,” said Tsaka.
