Education ministry opens year with dedication service

THE Ministry of Education yesterday officially open programs for year 2019 with a dedication service held at the PNG Education Institute in Waigaini, Port Moresby.
The Ministry dedicated its programs with the Theme “Put God First in all we do”.
Chairman of Port Moresby National High school Reverend Charles Lapa who led the dedication service told the education staff to serve the Lord in their duty for the country to move forward. He prayed fro the staff to give themselves to the Lord, work hard, worship the Lord, pray and fast and to love one another. “Don’t be canal minded people, education is knowledge, and we have to teach our children good and evil.” Rev Lapa acknowledged the department to introduce religious subject into the curriculum. He also appealed to the Minister and the Education department heads who were present at the ceremony, to allow church to run TVET institutions in the country. “There are many unformattes and drop outs, that not only need skills, but also to find hope in Jesus .
Teaching Service Commission Baron Sori, Education Secretary and Minister Nick Kuman all expressed the same sentiment to see education department prosper with God guidance and wisdom. Secretary, Dr Kombra pointed out two things that will enable the staff to move forward which is to remain fit and practical.
“We must be spiritually, mentally, physically fit for us to carry out the responsibvility that God and the government has bestowed upon us.
“We must be practical with our lives and do the right things.”
