ENB police apprehend wanted criminal

POLICE apprehended a suspected armed robber in Kokopo, East New Britain Province on Monday after shooting him in the leg.
East New Britain provincial police commander Joseph Tabali said the suspect, Nelson Lupa-Aka Nenor, 20, of West New Britain and Southern Highlands parentage, was wanted by Kokopo police.
He said police sighted the suspect at Ulaveo during the festive season and arrested him. He is now at the St Mary’s Vunapope General Hospital getting medical attention.
He said after the suspect is discharged from the hospital, he will be charged with armed robbery.
However, Mr Tabali said this Christmas and New Year season was very quiet and peaceful and thanked the people of East New Britain for upholding and respecting the law.
He also thanked his men for a job well done during the festive period as it was trouble-free and people celebrated without any incident.
