Hela deputy governor Thomas Potape said he will invite the four MPs and the provincial administrator to Komo local level government.

“We want to say sorry to Governor Philip Undialu, James Marape, Petrus Thomas and Komo Magarima MP. We want us to unite as a province, as leaders and people. It is an embarrassment for us fighting among ourselves, and our people have been missing out on development and what is rightfully theirs in their resource projects,” Mr Potape said

He said the peace and reconciliation ceremony is planned for the end of this month.

Mr Potape said there are other outstanding issues like the split of Southern Highlands and Hela in benefits in regards to the province and landowners.

He said law and order is another pressing issue that needs to be addressed.

“Hela is the garden of Papua New Guinea. Why do we fight? I will not fight but resolve that in 2019 we have to unite with governor Undialu for our development and address landowner benefits.

Mr Potape said he supported Mr Undialu’s call for unity among leaders and their people.

“The majority of people of Komo LLG and the 24 wards want me to work with governor Undialu.

“We must work together with the current Hela MPs for development in our province,” Mr Potape said.
