Rusa Cowboys ride their way through to next stage of Ipatas Cup

The Rusa Cowboys club of Kiunga have taken out the inaugural Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup (CCIC) challenge for Western province.
The Cowboys proved too good in beating Badali from Balimo 26-14, Natives from Kiunga 24-6 and Ningerum Highway Dusters 32-4 in a dominat show over the days of action in Kiunga.
CCIC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Timothy Lepa congratulated the Cowboys club by presenting the Gold Pass for them to take part in the elimination bout.
He further commended the teams for coming from afar to participate in the inaugural challenge for Western.
Organising committee deputy chairman John Buri yesterday thanked his hard-working committee members for ensuring the round-robin format was played without any major issues.
“I want to make special mention of the Kiunga police for making their presence felt in ensuring public safety was paramount,” he
added.
