Strong wind and rain lash ENB

Trees were uprooted, houses lost their roofs, minor landslips and fallen power poles with service lines across roads was a common sight mostly in Gazelle district, East New Britain over the weekend.
The last weekend of 2018 was spent without electricity in most parts of Gazelle district after heavy rains and winds disrupted the quiet Christmas period.
Fallen trees, broken branches, landslips and fallen PNG Power service lines littered the Kokopo Kerevat road from Toma junction to Kerevat.
ENB provincial police commander Joseph Tabali said he has not received any reports on casualties and major damages as yet.
The heavy rains continued all throughout the weekend and into the New Year.
