Upgrading drainage and resealing of roads in Konedobu continue

Recent heavy rain and flooding has damaged maintenance and road work at Elenes Street in Konedobu, Port Moresby.
Dekenai Construction has begun operations to repair the damage caused by the rain and continue on maintenance work.
The old road has a smaller drainage system which caused flooding due to drain water overflowing onto the road.
Since last year, Dekenai has rebuilt all the drainage systems by expanding the drainage and is currently working on upgrading and resealing.
“It’s still work in progress. Completion is expected in two months,” Dekenai field supervisor, Nelson Makosi said today.
“Wherever we have our operations, we employ youths from within those areas as casual laborers,” he said.
Public relation officer for Moresby South, Paul Paraka has thanked Dekenai for allowing 21 youths as casual general laborers.”
