Northern’s new authority

A dedication service in Northern Province last week was made all the more special due to it being the first ceremony held by the newly formed Northern Provincial Health Authority.
Having happened last week Tuesday, members of two previously known separate entities, the Popondetta General Hospital and Rural Health Services came together under the new provincial Authority.
Speaking at the meet, the interim Chief Executive Officer Mr Copland Ihove said in his opening remarks that he was very happy to see the two entities coming together especially now with the Authority’s establishment.
He said that this mergence of two important operations would see a more fluid and effective effort toward the provinces health service improvement endeavors.
Mr Ihove explained that in October last year Northern Province’s health faculties finally received their status as a Provincial Health Authority from the Minister for Health Sir Puka Temu.
The Dedication Service was centred on the theme, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. Psalms133:1”
During the Service, Pastor Philip Tony Dalaka who was officially invited as the guest speaker, sent out what was described by participants as a powerful message that urged all to stay true to God and keep up the fight to better service delivery in their respective duties.
Pastor Dalaka thanked the management and staff for taking time to organise and also invite him to attend the dedication service and was very pleased that NPHA was starting the year by dedicating everything to God.
The dedication service was seen as an eye opener and other Health Authorities were challenged to dedicate the year to God just the same.
