Kokoda foundation names new ambassadors
KOKODA Track Foundation has announced two new ambassadors joining team during the International Women’s Day celebration in Lae last Friday.
The ambassadors are Tania Nugent, a prominent television host, journalist and lobbyist for domestic violence, and Amelia Kuk, a PNG international and Brisbane Broncos premiership winning women’s football player.
They joined current foundation ambassadors Will Genia, Sharyn Ghidella, Michael Usher and Patrick Lindsay.
KTF chief executive officer Dr Genevieve Nelson welcomed the new ambassadors to the foundation family and said they are thrilled to have such remarkable women join their team of ambassadors.
She said Ms Nugent and Ms Kuku represent the strength, determination and resilience of women throughout PNG and are extraordinary examples to look up to and follow.
“I am a long-time supporter of KTF,” Ms Nugent said.
She said that the foundation is putting thousands of elementary teachers in classrooms through the Teach for Tomorrow program or supporting the nation’s best and brightest young people to reach their full potential as leaders for change through the Archer Leaders program.
Amelia Kuk said she is absolutely thrilled to be an ambassador for the foundation.
