Police calls for community support to track down gang still at large
BY PATRICK NIATO TOM
POLICE in Mendi, Southern Highlands, are calling on the public, especially the local communities, to come forward with information to track down the gang who ransacked Mendi Papindo on Sunday.
Mendi police station commander, chief sergeant Leo Walaget, said they are yet to find the suspects and they need the support of the communities to track down the gang. He said the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) are working around the clock to find the criminals.
“We have received reports that some people in a nearby district have been celebrating for no good cause. When we are ready we will move in once we get the tip off,” he said. Arrests are expected to be made today or tomorrow, once we we get the all-clear to move in.”
