Trukai Industries says it is still competitive in what it stands for in the country as it contends with increased competition in the rice marketplace.
Trukai General manager sales and marketing, Andrew Daubney, said this when asked about the company’s marketing strategy amidst new entrants, both locally produced and imported rice competitors.
“There is a lot of competition on the market and added that this has heightened becaused it is easy to import cheap products wherever they can really.
“But we stand by our belief and our brand heritage of a quality product,’’ he said.
“We do not want to feed Papua New Guineans rubbish rice.
“We want to feed the country good quality rice.”
He said a main part of the commitment also is investing into the community through its various programs.
“We continue to build our brand and continue to invest in whether it be the Fun Run and Morobe show, the Hunters, the Cowboys or weightlifting,’’ Mr Daubney said.
“We continue to support the community and try and get our brand message across as well.
“The competition is bringing cheap rice into the country and selling it at a cheap price.
“Whilst it is hard to compete with that, we believe our consumers out there have faith in our brand as we will always deliver quality at a reasonable price.” Mr Daubney added.
