Vitis aims to alleviate poverty through employment

Vitis is thriving.
The home-grown liquor manufacturer is striving to empower Papua New Guineans with jobs to alleviate poverty due to the high unemployment rates in the country.
Due to its significant expansion in NCD and more recently in Lae and parts of Morobe province, Vitis Industry is employing locals wherever it establishes its operations.
During the opening of its Mosin Plaza brand new addition – a home centre and cyber space at Gerehu in NCD, director Vikki Mosin said they are passionate about serving Papua New Guinea in creating jobs and opening new businesses throughout the country.
Mrs Mosin said throughout their 15 years of operations, Vitis Industry has supported local communities through sports and education.
“We have a passion for our country, this is despite the economic crises that we are experiencing, and the fact that we have a vision and we have a dream.
“Many people can speak against us or say negative things against us, but the good thing is that the Vitis Industry has created massive employment opportunities for Papua New Guineans around the country. We are here to stay and our investments are in Papua New Guinea…we don’t invest in Australia, Singapore or China or wherever, all our profits come back to Papua New Guinea and create employment and support the local communities and sports as a show of our commitment to the
people.
“We agree, or we don’t agree, we just make it happen, and that’s how we operate,” she added.
