Airport revamped and secured for leaders

THE media was given a show-and-tell tour of the newly built Jackson’s international runway and terminal, Port Moresby’s gateway to the world.
APEC Minister Justin Tkatchenko, Civil Aviation Minister Alfred Manasseh and Transport Secretary Roy Mumu led a team of officials who were given a tour by NAC boss Richard Yopo yesterday.
The biggest improvement to the main runway at Jackson had been completed at a cost of K65 million, with K50 million from NAC and K15 million from the government and is now ready to be used by the 21 APEC Economies that start arriving next Thursday. The infrastructure development worth K1.8 billion is now complete and all the leaders of the 21 APEC Economies will be arriving at that newly refurbished runway and terminal.
