Fiji, Guam battle for fourth placing
BASKETBALL: IT is not official.
But the winner of today’s game between Guam and Fiji in the boys division at the FIBA U15 Oceania basketball championships in Port Moresby will finish fourth and play Samoa in the bronze playoff.
Guam bounced back on the winner’s circle after their disappointing start to their campaign losing their opening match to New Zealand (131-41) and Samoa 85-63) respectively.
Australia and New Zealand will certainly finish on top while Guam and Samoa will battle it out for the third spot.
For host PNG, it is almost certain that both boys and girls teams will end the tournament in sixth spot.
Guam head coach Brent Edward Tipton said both teams (Fjii and Guam) are going into the game to win despite the outcome of their previous games.
