Wewak celebrates Christmas peacefully

Wewak town was quiet for the Christmas period while most business houses in town have been closed down until January 3.
PMV bus operations in town have also been asked by police to observe the Christmas holidays.
There were no major problems in town. A soccer competition next to Saksak compound has been in action for two weeks now as Christmas games sponsored by Wewak MP Kevin Isifu, who is also the Inter Government Relations Minister.
Sepiks are well known as soccer lovers and the game is supported and organised by ward members and sports minded youth leaders.
It attracted many youths as far as Nuigo compound, Caltex community and beyond.
Despite the cloudy weather the teams will play off with the finals at the Saksak oval.
