WIN-A-BOAT ‘is a gift sent from heaven’

The 13-year-old winner of the recent Post-Courier win-a-boat competition said that the competition is a gift from heaven.
Terry Walo Sandari, a grade 6 student at Philip Aravure Primary School in Port Moresby said this upon receiving the key to his 40 horsepower Yamaha motor and 23 foot Banana boat yesterday at Badili Ela Motors, Port Moresby.
Upon receiving the key, Terry Sandari revealed that he will be selling the boat and giving his one-tenth as tithes to his church because he sees the boat as a blessing and an answer to his prayers.
“I don’t have a sea in my village so I will sell the boat and pay for my school fees as well as contribute towards my family’s needs,” he said.
Originally from Ambum Valley in Enga Province, he said his village only has rivers which are too small for the boat.
He said they don’t have an operator to operate the boat here for hire purposes so they would just sell the boat.
For the youngster, who was brought up in the Lutheran church, he said he won the boat through God so he would give one-tenth of the money made from the selling of the boat to his local church in Gerehu, Moresby Northwest.
Humbled, young Sandari said that he won’t be looking at his needs first but instead he will be looking at his family’s needs.
“I won’t look at my need but I will look at my family’s need first then with the left overs I will look at my needs,” he said. “I will put my family first.”
