THE National Gaming Control Board (NGCB) on Friday gave K100,000 to the Human Development Institute.

The money will go into helping HDI run training programs in disadvantaged communities in the country.

Speaking on behalf of NGCB CEO Imelda Agon was NGCB’s acting director of community fund Everlyn Haiveta who said that the occasion marked another milestone journey for HDI to continue to provide quality learning to individuals who desired to transform the lives of people and their communities in PNG.

“PVBS enables people to develop, manage and own a profitable business from micro to small, medium and large enterprise in all types of industries,” said Mrs Haiveta.

She said that NGCB’s financial assistance to HDI’s training program to disadvantaged com-munities in PNG speaks for itself of their commitment to improve the lives of ordinary Papua New Guineans. “Our support by way of giving financial assistance to support HDI’s personal viable education for life scholarship empowers HDI to provide a unique training for people to better manage their lives and careers by developing a PNG home-grown, unique, innovative, inclusive, performance and action learning, business class and education for life,” she said. Moreover she said that the HDI personal viability program also delivers relevant education and support services to the unfortunate, under-privileged, handicapped and vulnerable especially those who are prepared to learn how to free themselves from poverty and to become self-reliant and financially independent.
